Imagination seems to be the only boundry - whether travellers decide to visit a themepark (with choices between a 'real' or virtual one), going to space or deep down to sea, flying on a cosmoplane or helium-filled airship hotel versus staying in a pod hotel; the choices will be endless - and maybe we will just end up sitting on the couch, 'popping' a destination pill bought at the local shop...

Amadeus

Amadeus is currently the biggest CRS/GDS system used worldwide. It was developed by Air France/Lufthansa and Iberia with headoffices located in several locations in Europe. It is used by a large number of airlines as their own reservation system (ie Qantas, British Airways, Thai Airways). In addition, the local Amadeus team also developed and support other products such as Moneydirect (an electronic payment system for the travel industry) and customized Internet products.

The company responsible for distributing Amadeus in the Austral/Asian region is Amadeus Australia & New Zealand www.amadeus.com.au.

Galileo

The Galileo reservation system was originally developed by British Airways, but is now part of the Cendant/Travelport Portfolio (who also controls Avis, CheapTickets.com, Orbitz, ebookers, Gullivers Travel, Budget, Ramada International etc) .

Galileo, a Travelport brand, is headquartered in Parsippany, NJ, and has offices worldwide.

Sabre is one of the biggest CRS/GDS systems in the world and was developed by Amercian Airlines (AA). The Head Office is located in Tulsa/USA. The Distribution company for the Austral Asian marketplace is Sabrepacific.
